            TIAMAT AND THE TWO RIVERS

         Tiamat got over control and ambitious and passionate. She started to prepare her army, she created her creatures and the spells. The father of Gods, Anshar, was alarmed. Mother of Gods summoned giant snakes with great power to protect themselves from Tiamat’s wrath. Tiamat was full of anger to any foe in her way. Tiamat got more powerful than ever. Anshar and Ea made a military alliance against Tiamat. All the Gods have turned to Tiamat. Marduk claimed that he could challenge with Tiamat and he has been chosen as their champion and was let to destroy her. He went to challenge Tiamat and with great difficulty he won the battle of Dark Spirits and spells. After the fall of Tiamat, Marduk has heaped her head up. From the eyes of this fallen God, Euphrates and Tigres were flown. The eyes of God have turned into these holy rivers from which ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia took their life potion. In other words, the power of God, Tiamat, transferred into the two rivers. Power of creation of life has changed shape. After Tiamat’s death, rivers began to flow life into humanity. People took the advantage of this extra-ordinary geography and brilliant civilizations developed within the region. By other means, ancient people thought that the power of creation was given to numerous Gods and they tought that this power might pass from the God to anything else. With this power of God, ancient people connect the flourishing civilizations’ power and fruitful lands between the rivers Euphrates and Tigres.  They might be thinking that this was a reflection of the mercy of the God, Tiamat.
